Praise for ‘The Compassionate Leader’s Playbook’…

I would describe this as an essential read for those aspiring or already in leadership, even those that are very experienced. The knowledge inside these pages isn’t the kind that you can get to the end of, its the kind that allows you to grow and develop as you continue to reflect on your leadership and qualities, on the culture in your workplace and how to get the best in your colleagues and yourself.

This book is practical, comprehensive and evidence based, which as a Clinical Psychologist is 🙌. As I open my copy of the book, it practically glows with neon highlighter!

Steven explains how traditional management skills are vital but not enough; leading without compassion is not enough. He gives useable guidance and reflective tools on growing in compassionate leadership; on having tough conversations with compassion, how to build healthy cultures in teams which leads to better behaviour, engagement and productivity.....

🎁 In short, gift this book to yourself and the leaders and aspiring leaders in your life, perhaps as a first step in compassionate leadership.

This is a book that you need , buy it for someone to enable them to develop their leadership skills and ideas. This book shouldn’t be popped on your shelf but used every day as a reminder and support to you as a leader. Steve brings together all the key elements of compassionate leadership in a solid focused and easily understandable way. Its not full of ‘words’ so that when you disect them they actually don’t mean a great deal.. no...This book is written from the heart by someone who clearly lives and breathes what he believes and that shines through on every page. There is something for everyone, either as a standalone book or offers the reader options to pick and choose what you need to revisit or to understand compassionate leadership further at a time when you need more help it allows you to develop and deliver compassionate leadership and to make sure that as a leader you get the best from yourself so you can share that with others. Can’t recommend it high enough.

“Over the last few years in my leadership studies I have read some excellent leadership books, but I have just finished this one and it is profound and resonates with the type of leadership we should all aspire to. I had really only read extracts during my Level 7 qualification, but I have found the time to read it properly now and do the exercises. My own leadership mettle has been tested over the last few months, and having this as a guide has been invaluable. My main learning is that I should have more self compassion #leadership #learning Steven Hargreaves truly a leadership legend and guru for modern leaders”

“On my final days of a lovely holiday by the sea, I have not been able to put this book down. As you think ahead of what 2022 has in store, I strongly recommend this book to you… it’s a lighthouse to help find your way back to being self compassionate, to enable you to be your best version of a compassionate leader (which is super timely particularly going into the third year of a global pandemic I think?) It’s simply brilliant.”

“I am halfway through this book and I am finding it hard to put down! It is so well written and full of useful insights. I first met Steve when we both worked for the same charity. He was my line manager and I can honestly say that meeting him changed my life. He believed in me, encouraged me and gave me the confidence to trust my instincts. Without his guidance I don’t think I would have had the courage to run my own business. I am in his debt. If you are going to buy one leadership book this year then make this the one - you won’t regret it.”
